Junior Judging Program
The purpose of this program is to provide our youth with a better understanding of how to adequately identify
positive conformation traits in horses and ponies. Individuals who have expertise in evaluating and ranking
horses and ponies according to specific criteria will be volunteer judges and help our youth to expand their
knowledge in this field. Participation is open to any ASPC/AMHR Youth Member 9 years & older.
Youth members must pre-enter a Jr. Judging Competition at the ASPC Shetland Congress and AMHR National
Show. Junior Judging Competition information and entry forms will be provided in the premium books for the
ASPC Shetland Congress and AMHR National Show. Send completed entry forms to Jr. Judging Coordinator
(will be listed in premium books) prior to deadline and an information packet will be mailed to the entered youth.
Schedule and classes to be judged will be determined by the Youth Committee and will be announced prior to
competition.
Awards will be presented to the Top Ten placings in the Jr. Judging competition at both the ASPC Shetland
Congress and the AMHR National Show. The National Champion at each show will receive a jacket. You can
receive more information on the Junior Judging Program by contacting the Junior Judging Chairperson listed in
the front of this packet.
